Emergency version of ATEX/IECEx LED An emergency version of

Dialight’s SafeSite Stainless Steel LED Linear Luminaire with integrated battery has recently been introduced. The new LED emergency light operates from -20°C to 60°C and will deliver at least three hours (and up to eight) on battery back- up. By being able to operate across this temperature range, this LED fitting with battery back-up and integrated power supply will meet the emergency lighting needs of a wider range of applications than has been possible with traditional fluorescent lighting. Well suited for offshore drilling operations, refineries and other hazardous areas where vibrations and shock shorten the life of tradi- tional lamps and luminaires, the 35W and 70W fitting is designed to replicate the output of conven- tional 2x18W and 2x36W fluores- cents for more robust, long life

emergency lighting. Both LED fit- tings deliver 270 lumens in battery back-up mode which is main- tained over the life of the battery. The SafeSite Stainless Steel LED Linear also has a built-in battery status indicator that allows the bat- tery condition to be monitored and tested without the need to touch the luminaire.

The SafeSite Stainless Steel LED Linear is the latest addition to Dialight’s portfolio of LED lighting solutions for hazardous and non-hazardous locations and is also available as part of the Dialight DuroSite series in an industrial version. With numer- ous mounting options to meet the normal demands of industry and offering loop-in and wire through options, the LED Linear is well suited for both retro-fit and new installations. Draeger Safety UK is helping to protect workers within the high risk processes found in the chemical and petrochemical industries with the launch of its Dräger Flame 3000 explosion-proof image pro- cessing flame detector.

The detector has been designed for stand alone operation and can also be inte- grated with a control system or fire panel, offering flame detection and a high level of false alarm immunity.

The chemical industry encompasses a wide array of diverse processes and appli- cations and, as a result, the Flame 3000 can work alongside Draeger’s entire range of flame detection equipment to create a bespoke solution for every client. This tai-

lored approach is driven by the application, including substance, surrounding environ- ment and processes, fire type (hydrocar- bon or non-hydrocarbon) and size. The Flame 3000 and existing Flame 5000 are suitable for use in hazardous environments such as refineries, chem- ical and pharmaceutical plants since the sensitivity is not affected by reflections. Impervious to CO2

emissions along with

hot gases and equipment, the flame detection system can be installed in any industrial situation where a potential fire source exists.
