National Treasure

English Heritage modernise its systems with K3 Retail and Microsoft.

The historic buildings and monuments commissioned for England by English Heritage wanted to deliver a better visitor experience. For this they went to K3 Retail and Microsoft for an upgrade of their head office and POS systems.

This will enable English Heritage to reduce many of their manual processes enabling them to spend more time on visitors visiting the historic sites. To support the business from the front end to the back‐office K3 Retail will be using the Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013 system. This will cover admissions and ticketing, as well as membership transactions and renewals, sales at the on‐site shops and cafes, and will also be used for promoting the broad range of events held at English Heritage sites from battle re‐enactments to medieval jousts. This new system will allow English Heritage to know which products sell best at each of their sites, and determine levels of stock held.

This new POS system will speed up the admissions, support the retail sales and facilitate improved profit generation in the catering facilities across all of English Heritage sites.

John Little, Sales Director at K3 Retail commented “K3 strongly supports the Not for Profit sector and this project will deliver the best in class software, and provide an infrastructure for business support and expansion. We look forward to a long standing partnership with English Heritage, assisting them get the very best results from the system, facilitating growth and improving the service for members and visitors to their many famous sites.”
