Scale coal dealer Thanks RMC for publishing the ar-
tilcle, “Scratchbuilding an HO scale coal dealer.” That article provided me with information for building one in O scale for my layout. Mine will be de- signed after the Wood Ave. Coal Com- pany that was on the PRR mainline in Linden, New Jersey.
The dealership and its silos and even
the Allied Lumber Company are long gone, but I have fond memories of hang- ing out there on summer vacations, watching the mainline trains and even the occasional K-4’s that were still oper- ating in the 1950’s. While visiting my home state, I still stop there, and watch the trains roll by as I have never lost my interest in trains.
JOHN RYBICKI Marietta, Georgia Franklin Jct. It might be mentioned in conjunction
with “Modeling Franklin Jct.” in the Au- gust issue by Chuck Davis that a 12- page article by Chuck entitled “Franklin Junction” appeared in Flags, Diamonds and Statues Vol. 20. No. 2 in late 2010.

LV test car I read Chuck Davis’ article on Lehigh
Valley scale test cars in the September and November 2012 RMC. My HO mod- el of car No. 96672 differs in detail from Chuck’s but the construction medium, styrene, is the same.
WOODY LANGLEY Sherman Oaks, Calif.
John English I was surprised when I saw the nota- tion in the August RMC of the passing of John English. My father bought a John English produced die-cast model kit of a Pennsy 0-4-0 slope back tender switcher back in the 1950’s. I still have it and after several overhauls, over the years, it sill runs well.

Van Dyke tank car The product review in August 2013 RMC of Blackstone Models HOn3 tank car included an excellent history of the prototype car. It was originally built for standard gauge service and converted to three-foot gauge by swapping trucks. I wanted a standard gauge model of this car; so I reversed the truck swap. I now have a excellent standard gauge model. BILL GILBERT
