ROAD TEST
The spa beckoned for Executive PA Magazine when we visited Whittlebury Hall Hotel & Spa in Northamptonshire
WHITTLEBURY HALL HOTEL & SPA: When it comes to finding a venue for that major conference you’re planning you can’t go wrong with a venue that specialises in just that. But there’s more to the conference and training facilities at Whittlebury Hall Hotel & Spa – as its name suggests. With two spacious conference suites, 20 conference and training suites, 28 fully serviced syndicate rooms, an executive boardroom, three private dining rooms and break out stations the venue is exceptionally well-equipped and versed in dealing with corporate clients. But after a hard day’s work in the boardroom your dele-
gates can then retire to the spa. Even better you could book everyone in for a spa day where they’ll enjoy full use of the heat and ice experiences, access to the spa and leisure club facilities plus treatments depending on what spa day you opt for. The spa facilities really are impressive and even before a treatment you could easily laze away an entire day flitting from the sauna to the foot baths and the ice cave through to the sheer indulgent comfort of the relaxation rooms and water beds. Not to mention the pool, experience showers, tepidarium, aromatherapy crystal steam and more. Each spa day booking also includes a two-course buffet
lunch and considering how many people are fed we were par- ticularly impressed by the quality and variety of the food. And
it’s far from being a few salad leaves; on entering the dining room we were greeted by platters of cold meat and fish, tasty salads and bowls of steaming soup, as well as hot meat and vegetarian dishes. All rounded off with juicy fruit salads and yoghurts – thanks goodness our afternoon consisted of noth- ing more taxing than a facial and a lay down on a water bed! After such a delicious lunch we couldn’t wait to get down
to the restaurant that evening for our dinner and we really weren’t disappointed. The food was exceptional and a real highlight of our stay. Service in the restaurant was prompt, discreet yet friendly though the large room and layout means the tables don’t feel as private as they could. The rooms at Whittlebury Hall Hotel & Spa are also com-
fortable. It’s fair to say they lacked imagination in their décor yet we were so exhausted and relaxed from our day in the spa and the delicious food we’d consumed that we barely managed to keep our eyes open long enough to worry about this. The rooms have everything you could need, plus a spa- cious bathroom in case you feel the need to carry out further pampering! So if you’re looking to book a training day or conference that offers something that little bit extra we guarantee the spectacular spa facilities and first class food will soon win your delegates over.
