READER ROAD TEST A treat for one reader
won a trip to the 5-star Grange Tower Bridge Hotel VENUE
Take a deep breath... and take in the length and breadth of the reception as you walk into the Grange Tower Bridge Hotel. What is striking about the reception is how open and spacious it is and although at the time of my visit it was very busy, I didn't feel crammed or overwhelmed by the volume of guests trying to either check in or out. Immediately there is a sense of customer-centered service as the concierge accompanied me to one of the reception desks. Checking in was hassle- free and so I made my way to my room. On this visit I was accompanied by my 23 year old daughter. We arrived at our room and found that we were given a dou- ble room instead of twin beds. However within 5 minutes of me informing recep- tion we were swiftly and without any inconvenience moved to the room of our choice. We were situated on the 14th floor of the hotel and had wonderful sights of London from our window. The room itself had all the comforts
conducive of a 5-star hotel, with mini bar, robe and slippers and the twin beds were large and comfortable. Wireless internet access was available with plenty of room to set up a laptop to create a mini office environment. The Samsung TV had all the 21st century interactive features with impeccable screen quality. In the bathroom the shower was to die
for. I could have spent a good hour enjoy- ing my mini spa in the shower but wait for it... there is also a spa within the hotel. We took advantage of the mother/daughter bonding time and booked ourselves some treatments. The therapists had wonderful healing hands. Additionally the pool and the sauna were perfectly delightful. Now onto one of my favourite past
times... eating. The restaurant was very light and airy and I must say at this point
that although the hotel is located in a typ- ically built up london area, all the rooms, be it common areas or conference rooms, had lots of natural day light with large windows throughout; an important factor when booking conferences and events. There was a good selection to choose from the menu and the food was delicious. The service by the restaurant staff was no different to that of the reception and concierge, and I noted my daughter had special dietary requirements which were easily met with no compromise on qual- ity and taste. Full and satisfied with our meal we decided to explore the sur- rounding area and within minutes we were at The Tower of London and London Bridge while in the heart of the busy nightlife where bars and restaurants were aplenty.
I enjoyed my stay so much that two
weeks later I attended a training course with three other colleagues, which is located 5 minutes away from the Grange Tower Bridge Hotel. With a few other 5- star hotels in the area I chose to book myself and the other delegates into the Grange Tower Bridge Hotel. I would cer- tainly use them again for both corporate and family events. A special shout out to Nicky who was especially helpful and charming and even walked me to the train- ing centre one morning.
