Southport Flower Show

T e UK’s largest independent garden show returns this summer for its 84th year running with special guest Carol Vorderman launching the show on 15th August. T e Countdown legend and current host of ITV’s hit show Loose Women sees a return to the Southport Flower Show, following her fi rst appearance in 1995. A keen gardener herself, Carol said: “ I love spending time pottering about in the garden and particularly like roaming around formal gardens and seeing the wonderful atmospheres which people create with plants. I’m delighted to be returning to the Southport Flower Show this year and I can’t wait to pick up some tips from the experts.” Other famous faces attending the weekend with Carol include Southport Flower Show patrons Sir Roddy Llewellyn, Professor David Bellamy, Stefan Buczacki and Matthew Wilson, who will be passing on their garden expertise. T e master classes do not end with gardening, as celebrity chef Simon Rimmer will also be off ering a showcase of his culinary excellence with a live cookery demonstration in the food village. T e theme of ‘Pride’ is prominent this year as amateur growers showcase their creations for guests to admire. Other features for the 2013 line-up also include a book festival and entertainment for all the family.
