1. Carondelet (Calif.) ÚThe Cougars (17-3) avenged an earlier loss to Amador Valley by knocking off the Dons 9-7 in overtime for the North Coast Section Division I championship. Carondelet had eight seniors now with Division I programs: Erin Jeffery (Hofstra), Kerianne Hunt (Brown), Morgan and Madison Castelein (Ohio State), Cali Castagnola (Colorado), Katie Merritt (San Diego State), Molly Kuptz (St. Mary’s) and Danielle Sanchez (Fresno State).
2. Amador Valley (Calif.) ÚThe Dons (21-2) boasted two Division I-caliber goalies in Allie DaCar (Stanford) and Molly Grozier (Marquette). It was still not enough to top Carondelet in the North Coast final. Midfielder Evan Murphy will play at Oregon.
3. Cherry Creek (Colo.) ÚThe Bruins (16-2) won their 10th state championship with a 20-10 victory over Centaurus. Cherry Creek has advanced to all 16 state finals since Colorado started sanctioning girls’ lacrosse. Junior Blair Sisk (Colorado) was the state player of the year, while Vaia Overhardt and Livvy List made first-team all-state. Other notable players are Tori Link (Colorado), Shannon Kinney (Susquehanna), Delaney Solomon (Lindenwood) and Mac Day (Carthage).

5. Centaurus (Colo.), ÚThe Warriors (15-3) ended the most successful season in program history with a 20-10 loss to reigning power Cherry Creek in the Colorado state championship game. Centaurus was led by all-state players Avery McGiboney, Sarah Brown (Colorado) and Quinn Trudel.
6. Air Academy (Colo.) ÚThe Kadets (15-2) beat Chaparral 15-11 to advance to the state semifinals, where they lost to eventual champ Cherry Creek. Natalie Berg, Kaley Holmes and Jessica Berg were named first-team all-state.
7. Los Alamitos (Calif.) ÚThe Griffins (19-2) won their fifth consecutive US Lacrosse Southern Section South Division title with a 15-12 victory over Beckham, and then beat Agoura in the Southern Section final. Julie Crowell (Cal) and Haley Fessenden (Navy) led the way.
8. Regis Jesuit (Colo.) ÚErin Sungelo (Yale), Kathryn Blumhardt (Oregon) and Emma Bohn were named first-team all-state for the Raiders (15-3), who came up just short in a 16-15 loss to Centaurus in the state semifinals. Erin Schilmoeller also signed with Oregon. Courtney Gielow will play at Cal, and Maddy Krause is headed to Colorado.

9. West Linn (Ore.) ÚThe Lions (17-1) won the Oregon state title with a 19-13 victory over Lake Oswego. Several players have signed with colleges, including Annie Longtain (Oregon), Megan Longtain (Fort Lewis) and Tara Sonnemaker (Chapman).
10. Coronado (Calif.) ÚThe Islanders (17-4) advanced to the San Diego Section Open Division finals, where La Costa Canyon snapped their four-game winning streak. Coronado has developed several Division I players, including Kate Pederson (USC) and Caroline Dineen-Carlson (Fresno State).
A four-year starter and three-time US Lacrosse All-American, Hunt led the Cougars to their third consecutive North Coast Section Division I girls’ lacrosse championship with a 9-7 overtime victory over Amador Valley, which was the only team from California to beat Carondelet during the regular season.
Hunt, who will play at Brown, finished the season with 50 goals and 46 assists. She also had 50 ground balls and won 85 draw controls.
“Kerianne is a phenomenal athlete and a great two-way player,” Cougars coach Rick Jefferey said. “She was also the best defender on the team and one of the best players in transition. She is like the Energizer bunny.”
Hunt was among eight Carondelet seniors who this fall will join NCAA Division I programs after leading the most talented squad in the history of their high school program. Several juniors also have committed to play lacrosse in college. “We are all very close friends off the field,” Hunt said. “That is really the reason I played lacrosse in the first place. We have a very strong bond.”
The Cougars finished the season 17-3, with two of their losses coming at the hands of East Coast powers Radnor (Pa.) and St. Stephen’s & St.
Agnes (Va.), the latter of which finished the season ranked No. 3 nationally. “Playing those
talented teams from the East Coast was a great experience,” said Hunt, who also was named the player of the year in the East Bay Athletic League. “It was the
most challenging lacrosse I’ve ever played. Every player was so good. It made our team better.”
Hunt was recruited by numerous Division I programs, decided on Brown because of the Ivy League university’s academics, strong lacrosse reputation and vibrant campus life.
