Division I women’s lacrosse has been on the upswing for years, with more programs and a bigger NCAA tournament fi eld. Check out how conference realignment will shake things up.
All the women who are independent, throw your hands up at me. In 2013, that was just fi rst-year programs Delaware State and Marquette. The Golden Eagles will migrate to the Big East, their home conference, in 2014. But Delaware State and Johns Hopkins will be free agents in 2015. Vanderbilt and Florida are functionally independent teams, too, playing in a league reduced to just two members, no automatic qualifi er and few nearby opponents.
