The wait for the next- gen within the UK is finally over, as the Xbox One launches today. The market is down 39 per cent throughout the week leading to the console’s release, as 855k games were sold, generating £26.8m in revenue.

Call of Duty: Ghosts maintains its position at the top of chart, despite a 76 per cent drop in sales. Activision’s shooter added the Xbox One to its list of platforms this week and it sold well, despite
consumers having to wait an extra week for the title.

New entry LEGO Marvel Super Heroesis this week’s surprise success, debuting at No.2. But despite topping the likes of Assassin’s Creed IVand Battlefield, it’s only the second biggest week one launch for Warner’s LEGO video game series.

• The PSP launched in 2004 with low weight TV, before a heavy three-week burst across the key Christmas period – averaging 90 individual TVRs per week. • This level of TVRs achieved a 1.86 per cent games and consoles market share.
