Inspiring the next generation

Next Generation Rail aims to bring young rail professionals together to exchange and share knowledge.

The conference will be held at the Crystal in London from 15-16 July and is targeted at building new leaders and researchers across academia and industry.

The event includes a competition to develop ideas to encourage young people to choose a career in rail, focused at either university or school age level.

Site visits to Greater Anglia’s Ilford depot, Stratford depot and the Docklands Light Railway (DLR) will be available and delegates will be offered networking opportunities to enhance collaboration between universities and rail companies.

Speeches from RRUKA co-chair Simon Inwicki, Amanda White, senior route engineer at HS2 and Gil Howarth, chief executive of NSARE, make it an event not to be missed.

RRUKA believes investing in the development of young employees and their professional network is an important part of employee retention and motivating them in their career in the rail industry.

RTM is media partner for this event and will be live-tweeting from the conference – follow @rtmnews. The hashtag for the event is #NextGenRail
