Chasers also enjoyed the trips (and with multiple trips it was easily possi- ble to both ride and chase during the weekend). Some classic locations like the 17th Street Bridge in Altoona over- looking the recently decommissioned Alto Tower were mobbed, and the re- maining classic Pennsy position light signals drew numerous photographers. It seemed like photographers were lin- ing the right of way mile by mile. Per- haps the most desirable location, how- ever, was the ledge on the outside of Horseshoe Curve just uphill from the visitors’ area. The ledge was mobbed each day, although one day the photog- raphers got less than they bargained for.
