Primarily the gravel trains operate on the north end of the system; they un- load south of Anchorage, however, so we will include that information here. The first gravel train will roll through Anchorage headed for unloading be- tween approximately 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and will unload at the Anchorage Sand & Gravel facility near O’Malley and Old Seward Highway. Once unloaded this train will return north to Anchorage departing between 4:00-4:30 p.m. The second gravel train will roll through Anchorage between 2:30-4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and will un- load at the Quality Asphalt Paving fa- cility located at C Street and Raspberry Road. Once unloaded this train will re- turn to Anchorage about 8:15 p.m. The above schedules are recent changes as compared to the information published last month and are likely to evolve based on gravel needs for the summer work season.

Passenger Traffic

In the summer months passenger trains are a big part of the traffic mix. South from Anchorage the railroad runs two daily passenger trains, the Coastal Classic and the Glacier Discovery. The Coastal departs Anchorage for Seward at 6:45 a.m. with an arrival in Seward at 11:01 a.m. The Glacier departs Anchor- age at 9:45 a.m. and arrives in Whittier
