What’s new at Clarks? Since Taipei Cycle Show earlier in the year we’ve secured many new contracts from Asia. Since March we’ve got distribution into five new countries and areas like Central and South America are proving great for the business. I recently gave a sales demonstration in Brazil to 230 sales staff at our distributor there, which is supplying around 3,000 retail stores each week.

Clarks Cycle Systems has broadened its hydraulic brake line, can you tell us a bit about those? Three hydraulic brake additions were added to the range for 2013. We now believe that we have a hydraulic brake to suit every level of rider.

What do you make of the trend for disc brakes on road bikes? We do believe that disc brake technology on road bike is here to stay. We also think that there will be some major advancements in hydro mechanical disc brakes in this area of the market.

Clarks European warehouse and distribution centre was opened last year in Enschede in the Netherlands, close to the German border. How has the centre improved service for UK dealers? The Clarks European warehouse has been a huge success for us. It has also been a significant benefit to our distributors, allowing them to conveniently and quickly replenish stock levels of the most sought-after items we produce.
