Telegraph’s VOS takeover results in new format for events at ExCeL
The Telegraph Outdoor
Adventure & Travel Show debuts in Feb 2014

AS REVEALED last month on
BikeBiz.com, London’s multi-event Active Travel and Outdoors Show is being considerably revamped for 2014, following the takeover by Telegraph Media Group. Not only will the two events – running alongside the London Bike Show – move to a new February date next year, but they will also be combined and rebranded to become The Telegraph Outdoor Adventure & Travel Show. Running February 13th to 16th, the shows will also be run in conjunction with the popular MCN Motorcycle Show at
ExCeL (organised by Bauer Media) – as well as two as-yet-unnamed ‘highly relevant consumer events’. The new collaboration will see audiences of around 50,000 additional visitors geared at the adventure/travel market. The move also marks a departure from the London Boat Show partnership. Rates for The Telegraph Outdoor
Adventure & Travel Show have been reduced by 25 per cent, VOS said, bringing prices down to 2006 prices. Geraldine Reeve, VOS Media’s Group
show director, commented on the changes for the amalgamated 2014 show: “Bringing the two shows together makes perfect
sense and the repositioning of the shows will benefit everyone involved. We feel that the new name and brand that we have created reflects the show’s offering and we are extremely confident of seeing an improved show in 2014 as a result of that. “The Telegraph’s support is a huge boost and it will undoubtedly broaden the show’s marketing reach and attract new visitors, and bring new content to the event. In addition, we will continue to work with a number of partners who are key in attracting different audiences to the event which are essential to the wide range of exhibitors we attract.”
“A number of potential exhibitors
weren’t able to attend the show due to the January dateline and we believe the new February dates will appeal more to exhibitors and sponsors.” “We’re excited about the future of the show and we look forward to welcoming a number of new exhibitors and visitors to the show in 2014 as a direct result of these changes.” Since the Telegraph takeover, Matt
Letch has joined VOS Media from Singletrack. He is working alongside Frazer Clifford on the continued growth of The London Bike Show.
