Air BP enters Tunisian market International aviation fuel supplier Air BP has marked its entry into the Tunisian aviation fuel sector by signing a commercial and technical service agreement with Tunisia’s AGIL, The National Company of Oil Distribution. The agreement includes service coverage at seven airports in Tunisia including Tunis Carthage; Djerba; Enfi dha; Tozor; Tabarka; Monastir and Sfax. AGIL is the distribution and marketing arm of the Tunisian Ministry of Energy, which has a strong presence in retail, bunker, lubricants, natural gas and the aviation fuel markets. The new partnership dovetails with Air BP’s strategic plans to increase its presence in both Africa and the Middle East.
In brief Q8Aviation has launched a new
refuelling operation at London City airport and has entered agreements to supply three airlines. This follows London City airport’s purchase of one of the two fuel farms at the airport with the aim of opening up the opportunity to supply fuel at the airport to more operators.
Copenhagen airport has signed an
agreement with SAS Ground Handling, Novia and Copenhagen Flight Services, to fi nd ways to decrease the time that passengers have to wait for their luggage. The agreement will include a check of the airport’s infrastructure and procedures in an effort to trim waiting times. The aim is to ensure that baggage from arriving fl ights reaches the baggage conveyor belts within 25 minutes, and that the fi nal bag rolls off the belt no later than 35 minutes after the fl ight’s arrival.
Iberia has enlarged the area in which automatic check-in machines are available at its T4 hub in Madrid-Barajas airport, installing additional machines. There are now 32 machines capable of issuing boarding passes and luggage tags in about 30 seconds; four of these machines are aimed at passengers with reduced mobility.
