Five year catering agreements signed by gategroup
A global provider of onboard products and services to the world’s airlines, gategroup has extended its business with its long-standing customers Iberia and Iberia Express. The provider has signed a pair of five- year agreements that cover Iberia and its newly-formed short and medium haul subsidiary, Iberia Express. The agreements will take effect from the end of an existing contract in 2015. Total value is put at approximately CHF425m in revenues over the life of the contracts. The group’s core brand, that of Gate Gourmet, will provide catering and provisioning services at both Madrid and Barcelona, the two main Spanish airports in Iberia’s network, as well as at multiple locations across Europe, the US and Latin America. Gate Gourmet also will supply products to Iberia’s VIP lounges in Madrid, and under the separate contract with Iberia Express, will provide business class catering for that subsidiary. Reflecting the breadth of gategroup’s capabilities, gategroup member Gate Retail Onboard will manage retail
services for sales of onboard food, beverages and other items for both Iberia and Iberia Express.
FBO benefits from a fresh look
Jet Aviation Geneva recently completed the refurbishment of its FBO. The new facility is due to be publicly unveiled in June. As part of the global refurbishment
programme announced last year, Jet Aviation Geneva has become the first company facility to be transformed with a fresh new corporate look and feel. Initiated with the intent to offer more customer enhancements while introducing a Jet Aviation brand design at the company’s major FBO and MRO facilities worldwide, the newly refurbished Geneva FBO is nearly twice the size of the original, adding 313 square metres to its footprint. The main floor of the FBO now offers a spacious new reception area and three new elegantly appointed customer lounges. A stairway was also built to extend the facility to a second floor, which includes a meeting room for clients as well as a large crew area featuring a lounge, a meeting room, a crew resting area and an operations centre.

Denver promoting the art of relaxation for travellers
Travellers at Denver International airport now have a new place to relax before or after a flight. The XpresSpa recently opened in the C Concourse Centre Core. The spa offers a wide variety of personal care services, including men’s and women’s facials, waxing, manicures, pedicures and a variety of massage options. “To women and men who are on the go, XpresSpa offers treatments and products that comfort and re-energise the mind and body, so that they can conquer the active day ahead,” quoted Morton Binn, owner of XpresSpa. Over the next three years, an estimated one to three new concessions will be transformed each month at the airport; XpresSpa is just one example of the mixture of new amenities coming to the airport. “Our goal is to diversify the offerings for our passengers, and we are pleased to have XpresSpa join our team, providing a new option for passengers to relax and rejuvenate or just get a quick manicure,” added Kim Day, Denver’s Manager of Aviation. “Every new concession we open enhances the overall travel experience at Denver International.”
