INDABA NEWS From the show fl oor...

“AS always it was great to reconnect with our suppliers, – in

our business such and

personal contact is so important. However, from a contracting and negotiating perspective much of this is now done throughout the year and a number of exhibitors mentioned that INDABA had become a hugely expensive social event. "The general feeling was that INDABA this year was far more positive than expected and this certainly refl ects the increase in sales we have seen over the last six months. "For me, it was wonderful to see a positive Zimbabwean stand. "We have seen a rise in interest and bookings to the country and so it was very useful to spend time at Indaba meeting both old and new suppliers. ” Liz Hall, General Manager, African Pride

“WE have just celebrated our 10th anniversary and the fi rst four months of this year

have been our best ever, with the majority of our bookings going to South Africa, Kenya and South Lwanga in Zambia. "Zimbabwe is also making a comeback (challenging Zambia at Victoria Falls) and we are waiting for elections in Madagascar to see what will happen there. "Mozambique has been badly affected by

the lack of fl ights in from Kruger, Namibia is holding its own and Tanzania is buzzing! "INDABA is very useful for me in fi nding

new products and meeting industry friends and colleagues.” Claire Farley , Owner, 2BY2 Holidays

"BEING an African

specialist, INDABA is still the main show for us.

"The sheer breadth of African product we

can access across the board in one place makes it 'the show to go to.' "We would like to be able to pre-arrange more appointments and suggest hosted lunches would make a good networking events. A Pan-African show would be the ideal event for us. " James Westrip, Director, Africa Collection
