ELIA SAWYER is a force to be reckoned with. A familiar face as one of the dealers on Channel 4 TV show Four Rooms, she also has an interior design company and a property portfolio, she buys and sells artwork and collectables, and she invests in a range of businesses. In fact, her website invites visitors to pitch their business ideas to her. Her focus and drive make an impression. “I don’t really have time for a hobby, but I’m working, and that’s what I enjoy. So in a way it is a bit like having a hobby,” she says. Celia’s interior design company, Cool 10 Luxury Interiors, is based in Basil Street and works on everything from private residences to hotels, show homes and even executive aircraft. The company’s architecture division offers services from planning and engineering to simple renovations.

“Some projects just want furnishing, some want everything from the ground up, choosing all the materials etc. So it really just depends on what they want and their budget,” she explains. The interior design business grew out of her work in property development.

“I started in an apartment, which I added another floor on, so it basically made it a really, really nice penthouse – I owned the roof space, so I could build up,” she says. “And people said I did such a lovely job, they asked me who’d done the interior, and I said, ‘well, I did it’. And then people started to ask me to do theirs after a while. 
