president of membership. “His time here at headquarters leading the Pilot Information Center is invaluable to us from a membership development perspective. Member service has been Sean’s focus during his entire time at AOPA.” Collins will replace former Eastern Regional Manager Craig Dotlo, who resigned from his post in 2012. “Having grown up in New England, I have a real appreciation for rural airports and the pilots who rely on them,” Collins said. “Keeping general aviation on the minds of state leaders and ensuring that airports stay open are my primary objectives, while enjoying the opportunity to meet AOPA members and new friends.” Collins holds a bachelor’s degree in aviation science and is a commercial pilot with instrument and multi-engine ratings.

The company says LAUNCH will deliver highly trained aviation technicians and engineers to support the workforce needs of aircraft maintenance and production companies. LAUNCH believes it understands the aviation business and the unique challenges of finding and hiring individuals with technical specialties. The LAUNCH team consists of Ian Rollo, CEO, Mike Guagenti, president and CFO, Jean Rollo, COO and Evan Krug, director of Client Relations.

Duncan Granted Repair Capability for Securaplane

Duncan Aviation now has the capability to repair batteries from Securaplane Technologies. This capability is in addition to Duncan Aviation’s ability to distribute Securaplane main ship and emergency batteries. “With more than seven years of Securaplane customer support experience under our belts, we’ve earned the ability to repair the emergency batteries as well as distribute and service them,” says Karl Detweiler, Accessories Shop Business Development and Marketing supervisor at Duncan Aviation’s Lincoln, Nebraska, location. During the renewal of

its

distribution and service agreement with Duncan Aviation, Securaplane decided to include the repair capability, which will help reduce turn times. Currently, the average turn time for service or installation of the battery is two to three days. Unusual repairs could run longer, depending upon the type or amount of repair work needed. “Prior to this agreement, Duncan Aviation could service or replace the batteries in the unit, but Securaplane needed to repair the unit, if necessary,” Detweiler says. “Duncan Aviation has an extensive battery repair shop and keeping this all in-house will certainly save the customer time.”

JETTECH has added Innovative Solutions and Support (IS&S) RVSM install capability to its Garmin G600 Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) for Citation 500 Series aircraft. By partnering with Southern Star Avionics, which holds an STC for a RVSM Air Data System, JETTECH is able to complete a path to interface for its G600 glass panel retrofit for Citation models 500, 501, 550, 551, S550 and 560. The teaming of the two STC holders will allow most of the previously installed RVSM equipment to be retained thus reducing cost and down time for the G600 RVSM installation. “The owners and operators of legacy Citations are eager to upgrade their flight deck with the latest in glass panel technology,” says Rob Irwin, founder and member/manager of JETTECH. “Our goal is to affordably resolve any G600 installation issues as they arise.” Irwin said the G600 modification is designed

to provide pilots with the highest degree of Situational Awareness including synthetic vision, terrain awareness, traffic collision avoidance systems, digital weather radar, satellite weather radar and lightning strike information. Installation kits will be available through JETTECH approved Garmin authorized dealers along with a complete documentation package to support the installation process. JETTECH previously announced a Garmin

G600 RVSM STC Award for Cheyenne III, IIIA & 400LS.
