2012 saw its share of challenges in the aviation maintenance marketplace. As we did last year, we reached out to key leaders in the both the commercial and business aviation MRO sectors as well as associations such as ARSA and PAMA that represent businesses and individuals in the maintenance industry, to ask them their opinions about what they feel the status of the industry is right now. We sent the following questions (adapted slightly for the associations):

1. In your opinion, what is the state of the aviation maintenance industry? 2. What were the biggest developments for your company in 2012? 3. What are the biggest changes you have seen in the MRO industry in the last several years?

4. What did your company do in 2012 to adapt to changes in the market? 5. What are the trends, big or small, you are beginning to see in the MRO business? 6. How is your company leveraging partnerships and alliances for success?

For answers to questions not appearing in the print version, go online at www.avm-mag.com and you will find the complete responses for each leader. We’d like to extend our tremendous thanks to all who took the time to answer so thoughtfully. I hope you find the answers as forthright and enlightening as I did.
