TRAVEL

DAY 1- Enjoy a great seafood paella at the beach, and in the afternoon discover the historical centre of Valencia or try such local delicacies as Horchata the local summer drink made from tiger nuts. In the evening enjoy a tapas tour.

DAY 2- Learn the secrets of cooking Paella in a hands-on cookery class teaching you how to create a delicious Paella. Tis includes a visit to the impressive local food market with the chef to see first-hand how to buy the best ingredients. Te class is a step by step instruction of how to cook the noble dish with our English speaking chef who is there to ensure your paella comes out just right. During the class there is a wine-tasting of local cava and you’ll learn how to prepare at least one tapa. After lunch (your paella!) the afternoon is free and we recommend dinner at the Quique Dacosta’s - currently Valencia’s most fashionable restaurant and chef.

and new. Valencia is city of contrasts; on the one hand a maritime port and on the other a capital of a fertile land. It offers a window into the typical Mediterranean lifestyle of the Spanish; amazing food, nightlife and relaxation.

If you come on the Paella Project you’ll not only learn how to cook Paella but you’ll also learn its history, its culture and the reasoning behind its ingredients. For example, did you know rice is grown extensively just south of Valencia and has been for over a thousand years?

Te Paella Project really is a full on ‘Foodie Experience’ and above all it is a fun way to

experience and learn about Paella right in the heart of its home-Valencia. If it’s not from Valencia it is not real Paella!

For the activities you will be accompanied by either Patrick (a Brit who has lived in Valencia for over 20 years) or Julia (who is Spanish and has lived in Valencia nearly all her life - and still manages to speak excellent English). Together they have an accumulation of local knowledge second to none and will ensure you enjoy the whole experience.
