BEHIND THE BUS STOP New bar celebrates all that’s Great about Britain. What’s in a name? Northampton has a long history of unusual pub names, from T e Road to Morocco to T e Swinging Sporran, and one newly-opened bar is continuing the tradition. Behind T e Bus Stop is located, unsurprisingly, just behind the bus stop in Wellingborough Road, Northampton.
T e bar, which hopes to launch regular comedy nights and live music sessions in the weeks ahead, is focused on celebrating all that’s Great about Britain, with an extensive selection of bottled real ales and classic dishes such as steak and kidney pudding and lamb hot pot. Joint owner Matthew Taylor, aged 35, said: “We spent ages racking our brains trying to come up with a name. We wanted something a bit diff erent and eventually it was our waiter who came up with Behind T e Bus Stop. We think it’s a great name and hopefully puts a smile on peoples’ faces.”
T e pair hope Behind T e Bus Stop will help fi ll a gap in the market in Wellingborough Road, off ering a selection of good quality wines and beers and a ‘Truly British’ night out. Contact the bar on Twitter @behindbussto or visit
