doing, also, I’m rather opinionated re current affairs: it’s been suggested I should go into Politics!!

WHAT ARE THE MOST INTERESTING ASPECTS OF YOUR WORK?

Te diversity of my role and the people I work with. Also, dealing with the challenges of being in business today.

WHAT MAKES FOR A GOOD WEEKEND?

For me it’s a combination of spending time with my family, watching the Saints and/or England rugby followed by a gig with the Ginger Pigs.

BEST HOLIDAY DESTINATION AND WHY?

I’ve been fortunate enough to travel quite extensively via Wella GB: Te stand out destinations were India, Brazil and Africa... although a week’s snowboarding with my mates takes a bit of beating.

ARE YOU A “DESIGNER BRAND” OR BARGAIN GUY?

My rather meager wardrobe ranges from army surplus to designer. I do like designer clothing; I’m just not into labels.

SPILL THE BEANS… WHAT IS YOUR GROOMING REGIME?

A facial scrub in the shower followed by some Bulldog moisturizer.

MOST EXTRAVAGANT PURCHASE AND WHY?

A Jamaican Rasta head carved out of ebony wood: I was carrying it as hand luggage and it was so damned heavy I was almost a broken man by the time I got to the plane. I could hear the airport staff chuckling as I struggled past them.

ª YOUR TOP MOVIES?

I do enjoy watching films. My favorites: Te Bourne series; Daniel Craig’s Bond; Still Crazy; Te Dish; Te Godfather…it goes on!

YOUR FAVOURITE FOOD?

Freshly prepared, preferably healthy, tasty food... especially if I haven’t had to cook it.

www.richardsonsevents.com FAVOURITE LOCAL SHOPS?

For clothing I tend to use Tackerays, Temple and Driver (the army surplus place has moved and I haven’t yet found it!!). I also like Oriental Imports.

FAVOURITE LOCAL RESTAURANTS?

Te Church Restaurant in St Johns at the bottom of Bridge St and Te Old White Hart just over South Bridge in Far Cotton… obviously!

WHAT ARE YOU READING AT THE MOMENT?

I’m re-reading my Wilbur Smith books at the moment, though I recently read the G.R.R. Martin ‘Game of Trones’ series which were excellent.

WHEN AND WHY DID YOU LAST CRY?

I tend to keep my emotions rather close to my chest, but I do have a worrying tendency to blub watching films or something emotional on TV preferably when no one else is around!

WHO OR WHAT MAKES YOU LAUGH?

Despite my serious demeanor quite a few things can set me off: I do remember listening to a recording of Elvis Presley when he was doing a live gig; he forgot the words and ended up laughing helplessly, totally out of control ± it wasn’t long before I was also laughing just as helplessly.

WHAT ANGERS YOU MOST? Injustice and a lack of integrity.

I love freshly

prepared, preferably healthy, tasty food... especially if I haven’t had to cook it.

WHICH FUNNY RECENT MOMENT STICKS IN YOUR HEAD?

It wasn’t recent, I was in my early 30’s, but a mate and I were going to an art exhibition on the top floor of Selfridges in London. We stepped into a large, mirrored lift full of late 40’s, early 50’s couples. For some reason, possibly because of the silence, one of us started sniggering, which set

the other off. In no time at all we were both hopelessly and helplessly laughing out of control. What made it worse was that everyone else was so po-faced about it, all that is, except for one gentleman, standing behind his very po-faced wife, who was desperately trying, and failing dismally, to stop himself from collapsing into laughter ± I ’m not sure if it was my funniest or most embarrassing moment!

IF YOU COULD BE ANYONE OR ANYTHING PAST OR PRESENT, WHO/ WHAT WOULD IT BE?

I’m very happy being me, but perhaps Mick Jagger, I’ve already got the lips!

WHAT ARE THE MOST IMPORTANT THINGS IN YOUR LIFE?

My family, my business, work colleagues and friends, and the British and Irish Lions winning in Australia, and England winning the next Rugby World Cup!!
