Our youngest shooters are not ready to start a match in the kneeling posi- tion, do I need to keep them out of matches or is there an alternative?

There will be many sanctioned matches available for your shoot- ers that will not go to the kneel- ing fi rst format. As the young shooters transition to stronger shooting skills, they will adjust to the new format.

The pistol fi nals seem to add a lot of extra shots for the younger shooter. Will USAS use the new fi nal format?

The pistol fi nals are a lot of ad- ditional shooting for the experi- enced and inexperienced alike. USAS will only use the new fi nals format during a selection process for a specifi c team and it will al- ways be clearly announced, both in the program and in the USAS Selection Procedures.

Our club does not use electronic targets. What are the time limits we need to use for air pistol if we are using single bull targets with target carriers?

Time limits are listed in the back of the pistol section, table 8.11. Both the electronic target and target carrier times are listed under “Time Limits” in the table. Also, please note the change in the sighting and preparation time in the air and 50m pistol events in the table.

The new rules seem to make a big deal of the velocity testing for Men’s 25m Rapid Fire Pistol. Will USA Shooting require clubs to submit testing data if we shoot a PTO in Rapid Fire?

USA Shooting will only require ammunition velocity testing in selection events and testing will be clearly outlined in the match program.

We have taught all of our young shooters to use their pistol boxes, but now they can’t use them on the line anymore.

The use of pistol boxes on the line will be continued by USAS during the qualifi cation phase of the competition. We recommend some fi nals practice without the boxes as fi nals will be conducted without them at national level matches.

Our club does not have and probably won’t get the new chips to run the new Double Trap format. Will our junior shooters still be able to qual- ify for the National Junior Olympic Championships?

Yes, go ahead and shoot the match in the double trap format at your range and submit the scores.

all ranges will be ready for the new formats. USAS will be using the new format at the National Championships.

USAS realizes that not
