Slightly over 85 inches, Karl Jacob’s ¹⁄₄-scale Bleriot (above left) features scale wing warping. Andy Marone’s 118-inch, kit-built Albatros DVA (above right) is big, and swings a 34–20 prop with a reduction drive on its G-62 engine. Scott Spinosa’s

¹⁄₃-scale Nieuport 28C-1 (below left), from a Balsa USA kit, is on display at the Smithsonian’s Udvar-Hazy Museum in Virginia. Last year, Jay Newler’s ¹⁄₂-scale Fokker DR I (below right) was bones. Now it’s a 140-inch beauty.

It took a very pleasant 659 hours for Jim Plucinsky to build his highly modified ¹⁄₂-scale Nieuport 11 (above left). Rob Caso worked his scale magic with this fantasy “bird of prey” ¹⁄₈-scale Sopwith Camel(above right) powered by an E-

flite Power 15. Using a Funaero Albatros D-III (below left), Jim Plucinsky added loads of extra detail. Both 73-inch span, Jim Plucinsky’s and Dennis Hernadez’ Nieuport 11s (below right) are side by side.
