Pro Sound Awards: lobby us up!
LEADING STUDIO equipment developer Focusrite Novation has
been confirmed as the latest brand to sign up in support of the Pro Sound Awards, to be held at the Ministry of Sound on 19 September 2013. And as PSNEurope went to
press, loudspeaker developer Martin Audio also declared its support for the bash. The lobbying period for the
awards began last month and almost immediately we began receiving nominations and suggestions as to who should be a winner. But, that’s not good enough! Yes, dear reader, we want to hear from you too! The lobbying period
continues until the end of this
month, 31 May, so drop us a line with your nominee. In a nutshell: write (up to) 300 words on who/what deserves wider recognition, and email it to prosoundawards@
intentmedia.co.uk. Lobbying is free, anyone can do it, and making your thoughts known is easy. More on that below. Focusrite Novation will be sponsoring the three awards in the ‘Studio’ segment of the event: Engineer of the Year; Recording Production of the Year; and Studio of the Year. There will be 16 awards in total at the event. Sennheiser, DiGiCo and Fineline Media Finance are already onboard as sponsors. Focusrite Novation has just cracked the top 50 in the

company’s second year on The Sunday Times’ list of best small companies to work for. Last year, it ranked number 68 of the list’s top 100 firms, but leapt to 44th position in 2013. The ranking is based on a confidential survey of over 240,000 employees at businesses with between 50 and 249 employees. Focusrite Novation chairman Phil Dudderidge commented: “We strive to make Focusrite the best company to work for, for each and every employee. That means plenty of opportunity for career development, an inspiring work environment, and the occasional party too!” The High Wycombe-based company announced at the
an established but dynamic brand like Focusrite Novation is joining us in September – there could hardly be anyone more apt to sponsor the ‘Studio’ sector,” said PSNEurope’s Dave Robinson. Martin Audio, meanwhile, will be sponsoring the drinks reception at the Ministry of Sound. The company is no stranger to the venue: the six bespoke Martin Audio towers and ASX subs in The Box main room have helped the MoS win award after award for ‘best club’ in the last five years. “Martin Audio at the Pro Sound Awards? Brilliant! It’s like a homecoming,” remarked the PSNEurope editor. “And I hear they’re bringing a dice-based drinking game to get the party started, too. Let’s hope they don’t start tweaking the horns after a few shandies...” More information about
