An upgrade at the 250-year-old Slovak National Theatre (SND) has seen a YamahaCL series system installed to replace the long-serving PM5D-RH desk. Supplied and installed by Mediatech Central Europe, the new system comprises CL1 and CL5 digital consoles, plus two Rio3224-D i/o units. An Apple MacBook Pro and iPad have also been supplied, running Yamaha’s CL Editor software and StageMix app respectively. Locally the SND is referred to as the ‘Old Opera’, as the 611-seat venue nowadays mainly hosts opera and ballet.

Electro-VoiceSx600, EVF- 1122S, EVH-1152D and the Zx1i series speakers have all been certified to comply with EN54-24 standards, the manufacturer has announced. The EN54 series of standards was introduced in 1996 to cover all aspects of fire alarm systems in use throughout Europe. “The certification of our loudspeakers to conform with the EN54-24 standard offers our customers Europe-wide assurance that they meet the rigorous requirements it lays out,” said EV’s Oliver Sahm.

Lab.gruppen and TC-Helicon – announced a rebranding initiative that formally brings the individual companies together under a new and visible TC Group brand identity. According to TC Group the
move is designed to form a more coherent relationship between the companies in the eyes of the end user and highlight the shared resources and expertise across the respective brands. While the companies have been linked by the same parent organisation for over a decade, individual brand identities have remained separate with no visible connection between them.
