Audio’s LM-Correct is available as a file-based program, taking its speed and simplicity outside the Avid environment. LM-Correct is designed to offer automatic, faster-than- real time loudness analysis and correction. LM-Correct is ideal for rapid,
intuitive correction in situations where time is limited, providing an automatic method of rapidly conforming audio to current loudness standards. Nugen Audio is also offering
VisLM 1.6, a significant update to its visual loudness monitoring tool. With this new version, VisLM is available for the first time in the Avid AAX format as well as in a 64-bit OS X version. VisLM 1.6 includes a new
dialogue gate option that allows automatic measurement of dialogue sections within the source material. Measurements can be written to automation tracks so that elements such as the loudness profile and true- peak clips can be seen against the waveform in the digital audio workstation timeline for diagnostic referencing. Pebble Beach Systems is launching its Stingray channel- in-a-box range. Stingray is a fully featured channel in a box suitable for any system from one to over 100 channels. It enables the fast deployment of a wide range of channel types, including more complex dynamic channels that incorporate extensive live content and frequent schedule changes, as well as simpler clip-based channels. RTWwill be exhibiting its
new TMR7 TouchMonitor at the 2013 NAB Show. Specifically designed for radio broadcasting, the four-channel desktop unit features two AES3 digital (XLR) inputs that integrate all metering options required in radio broadcasting. Similar to the TM7, the TMR7 also includes a 7” touchscreen, and is available as a desktop unit, fitted or as an OEM unit with 16 audio inputs. TSL Professional Products will present a selection of new

audio, loudness, tally, power distribution and processing solutions at the show. The company will launch its SAM1-3GM Studio Audio Monitoring Solution and showcase the Monitor Plus Audio (MPA) and PAM PiCo product ranges for audio monitoring. The SAM1-3GM is a flexible system ideal for broadcasters and content producers alike; it offers seamless operation in settings ranging from multi-language and surround sound/stereo production to live sports and event broadcasting. The MPA1-3G from the Monitor Plus family will also be on show. It provides comprehensive de-embedding capabilities and accepts any SD or HD-SDI signal up to and including 3G. TSL will also exhibit the MPA1-ASB+ and – ASC+ units. Finally, PAM PiCo is a standalone audio and loudness meter featuring the StarFish surround sound display. It handles stereo or 5.1 metering with an array of user-selectable bar graphs Throughout the NAB Show,
SMPTE will showcase its newly launched digital library, which enables users to search and access content including the SMPTE Motion Imaging Journal (1916 to the present), the society’s conference proceedings, and the full suite of SMPTE standards, recommended practices, and engineering guidelines. It is available on the HighWire online platform at
library.smpte.org. SMPTE’s CamBook 3 is a precision tool designed to help
users optimise image quality with ease and speed. With this tool, engineers can align and set up cameras to REC 709, compare/match camera makes and models, and test lenses for colorimetry and resolution. In production, the CamBook 3 helps users select the best camera for the job and serves as a useful reference both on set and in post for colour correction of images. For delegates in search of
the latest 4:4:4 recording solutions, Sound Devices will showcase upgrades to its PIX 240 and PIX 240i production video recorders. This major update, available for all PIX customers free of charge, offers Apple ProRes 4444 recording from video sources over 3G-SDI (4:4:4 RGB or YCbCr). Wohler will be showing its
latest dual-input SDI audio monitor, the AMP1-16M. This is said to offer high- performance monitoring of embedded audio in two 3G/HD or SD-SDI streams. The 1-RU system de-embeds and provides metering and monitoring of any or all of the 16 audio channels in the selected stream. Also on show is AMP1-MADIe, an in-rack portable MADI unit with Ethernet control and configuration. Designed for sports productions and other live broadcasts, the new system can be connected in series with a 56- or 64-channel MADI stream for individual volume adjustment and audible monitoring of any eight selected MADI channels at once. n
