EUROPE

Prolight + Sound

With more than 44,000 people expected to descend on Frankfurt, we highlight more of the product launches which may catch your eye

THE GERMAN financial capital beckons once more

(though, a little later than normal this time around). We’ve already teased you with a few of the headline, embargoed launches (turn back to page 4), but there’s a lot more to see besides… The main focus on the Alcons

Audio stand will be the LR24 mid-sized pro-ribbon line array system: Alcons’ response to the demand for linear sound systems, but with “true 1:1, undistorted and non- compressed” reproduction. Also on show is the QR24 pro-ribbon line-source column – a modular, two-way column- array loudspeaker to be used in acoustically-challenging rooms.

Cadac is exhibiting a full

range of analogue and digital sound production consoles, from the bespoke, hand built J-Type to the much anticipated CDC8. The company will be running demonstrations, by appointment, of its CDC8 and CDC Four digital consoles, and the extended CDC8 mix system, comprising the CDC8-32 and compact CDC8-16 frame size consoles, the CDC8-16S expansion sidecar and 32/16 and 64/48 I/O stage racks featuring Cadac’s proprietary high-speed MEGACOMMS network protocol. Camco is using Prolight + Sound 2013 to launch the iD4 DSP amplifier. With 100 presets, a fully configurable routing system for inputs and outputs,

TC ELECTRONIC

TC ELECTRONIC is expanding its DB platform with the addition of the DB6 audio broadcast processor. DB6 is a TV and mobile TV transmission processor that is able to handle everything regarding loudness in one process – loudness metering at the input stage, up or down conversion, loudness processing, on-line lip-sync delay, loudness metering at the

digital and analogue inputs and an additional wide feature set across both DSP and amplifier departments, the iD4 package offers sonic quality and control in 2RU light weight format. The Class H stereo amplifier

delivers 1,900W per channel into 4 ohm, 1,500W per channel into 2 ohm, and 3,800W in Mono Bridge mode. DSP features include 10 parametric filters per

output stage and logging of all relevant loudness statistics. The LoudnessWizard algorithm takes care of loudness correction, up- conversion from stereo to surround formats and down- conversion from surround to

input/output, delay and limiter phase change input gain from -48 to +12dB. Pride of place on the CEDAR

Audio stand will be given to the DNS 8 Live multichannel dialogue noise suppressor. The company will also demonstrate its CEDAR Cambridge V8 workstation as well as the CEDAR Duo rackmount restoration modules.

stereo, while the Radar Loudness Meter is able to capture the essence of any loudness landscape at a glance for a complete overview that includes Loudness History (S), Momentary Loudness (M) and Loudness Range (LRA).

The SD9B will make its world

debut on the DiGiCo stand while the SD9T will be launched in Europe. The SD9T gives all the advanced theatre features of the flagship SD7T to the smaller SD9. One of the newest tools in the collection is the Players function. This allows the engineer to quickly deal with cast changes on stage. What was once a process of recalling the
