56 TVBEurope IBC2013 Sneak Preview Grass Valley Edius 7 adds realtime 4K By David Fox

THE LATEST version of Grass Valley’s nonlinear editing software supports multilayer 4K and 3D production, and is open to third- party input and output hardware. “No other nonlinear video editing software gives users the realtime speed and functionality that Edius does,” claimed Grass Valley’s senior vice president, Marketing, Mike Cronk. “Its compatibility with all major file formats, the ability to edit in realtime without rendering – even in 4K with its native 64-bit architecture – means that Edius 7 is an ideal solution for either broadcast or post production environments.” It will be publicly demonstrated for the first time at IBC with support for third- party input and output hardware from Blackmagic Design and Matrox now, and for AJA Video Systems hardware in Q4. This should give users
