Megahertz Broadcast Systems (MHz) has signed a partnership agreement with C-COM Satellite Systems, provider of mobile auto-deploying satellite antenna systems. The new deal will see MHz using the leading edge Ku- and Ka-band VSAT satellite equipment from C-COM in tightly integrated, easy to use digital SNG solutions for broadcast journalists on the move. Initially, the partnership will focus on C-COM’s powerful, rugged and lightweight 75cm and 98cm iNetVu antenna systems. Keep up with traffic GOTV, a Portuguese graphics software facility; and VANTeC, Orad’s partner and integrator since 1995, have joined forces to provide up-to- the-minute traffic bulletins for prime time TV broadcasts, based on Orad’s HDVG+ rendering platform. Nuno Morais, CEO of GOTV, commented: “By streaming different sources of traffic data into one centrally operated mobility database, we are able to provide clear, precise and extremely accurate traffic news to the Portuguese people. DANMON SYSTEMS Group has completed a new high definition production and transmission facility for Danish regional television broadcaster TV SYD (TV South).


Studio 1 is equipped with six


Ikegami cameras that output to a Ross Carbonite vision switcher. A Ross XPression 3D graphics generator also feeds into the Carbonite. Four of the cameras are HDK-55 on Vinten pedestals with Autoscript prompters integrated into an Avid iNews newsroom computer system.


The HDK-55 studio cameras are supplemented by two

HDK-45E compact cameras on Shotoku remotely controlled pan/tilt heads. Audio is processed via a 96-channel Studer Vista 1 console. Studio 2 is equipped in a similar style to Studio 1 but with four cameras instead of six. A third studio has also been installed for single-camera applications.


Bubble grows with Avid and Pro Tools

HHB’S SCRUB has provided Bubble TV with an upgrade that includes two Avid consoles and Pro Tools HDX. Scrub supplied both 16-fader D-Control and


eight-fader D-Command consoles as part of an upgrade to Bubble TV’s London-based facilities. They are now also running


the latest Pro Tools HDX system with v10 software and additional digital HD I/O.


TC Electronic’s TM9 TouchMonitor loudness meter was also supplied as part of the upgrade.

production community, Bubble TV is a boutique sound and picture post facility that provides full services to broadcasters, advertisers and respected content producers in the UK and around the world, including MTV and Hit Entertainment. The company also owns and operates Duck Lane Studios and Silk Sound in Soho. Bubble TV recently embarked


on a multi-million pound investment programme that has seen several major hardware upgrades and building renovations. Owner and CEO Chris Phinikas said, “We’re constantly looking to stay ahead of the game and invest in our facilities. We’re delighted with our new consoles. The central element here is a DSG One2One turnkey remote studio system including a 1080i camera on a motorised head. Control room facilities include video and audio edit suites, ingest, archive and production, each with access to networked Avid file-based content management.


The Avid feeds a playout system, multiscreen monitor array and digital terrestrial television encoders.


A ClearCom Eclipse-Media


64 provides intercom facilities between the studios and control room. Other elements include Canon lenses, Harris clocks, Alpermann & Velte time displays, DK Tech test equipment, Miranda glue, Sony (OLED), Ikegami and Dell picture monitors and Genelec nearfield monitor loudspeakers. On-site implementation of
