Riedel networks with Grass Valley

By Jake Young

Riedel Communications RIEDEL COMMUNICATIONSis unveiling the MediorNet MN-GV-2 card at the show. This new interface card enables users to network Grass Valley 3G camera systems — the LDK and the brand-new LDX series — and their base stations via the MediorNet fibre infrastructure. Users can route bidirectional camera signals, including all embedded audio and telemetry control data, through MediorNet, which facilitates the free assignment of cameras to any base station or CCU within the network. With this solution, users can realise unparalleled flexibility in camera configurations and eliminate the need for rewiring when production requirements change. New RockNet expansion solutions for Solid State Logic (SSL) consoles and Soundcraft Si Compact consoles are being showcased. Next- generation firmware for the RockNet RN.334.MD MADI interface makes SSL mixing consoles an integrated part of the Riedel RockNet digital audio network, with complete remote control functionality over all gains and the flexibility of RockNet’s renowned independent gain feature. As a result, several mixing consoles can operate with the same mic pre-amps without affecting one another — a capability that greatly simplifies multiconsole and recording setups. C4937

The recently released intuitive CP4 control panel

Ready to Use robotics By Jake Young

Vinten Radamec VISITORS ATNAB2013 are able to see a new all-in-one robotic camera system make its US debut. The Ready to Use package incorporates the recently released intuitive CP4 control panel, with Vinten Radamec’s Fusion FHR-35 pan and tilt head, to deliver Vinten Radamec’s trademark smooth camera control. The robotics system is easy to install and operate, providing remarkably smooth control of the pan, tilt, zoom and focus functions of the camera and lens. The compact CP4 robotics control panel

system has a desktop design incorporating a touchscreen that controls up to four heads and stores up to 40 pre-set shots. For larger

environments, the upgrade solution enables users to control up to eight heads and 200 pre-set shots. The CP4 meets the needs of operators regardless of their level of robotics knowledge, and is a simple and straightforward product designed specifically for use with small robotic heads. The robotics in a box solution brings the

CP4 together with Vinten Radamec’s remote pan and tilt head, the Fusion FHR-35. Measuring less than 25cm by 19cm, the FHR-35 incorporates the company’s ICE technology to deliver unprecedented control and accuracy. Managed by the CP4, the FHR-35 carries a payload up to 16kg/35lbs and is capable of discreetly supporting a camera, lens and 15-inch prompter. C6425

INCLUDED IN Pixelmetrix’s demo lineup is the launch of its DVStor² Consolidator and Pelican Video Encoder. The DVStor² Consolidator is a straightforward web application that presents the status of up to 20 DVStors on a single, integrated dashboard. The DVStor platform provides many options for economical playout and time delay using MPEG transport streams. Built upon the web services APIs included in the latest DVStor models, the DVStor² Consolidator is packaged as a simple and cost-effective appliance — simply plug and play.

Within the DVStor² Consolidator, the overall health of up to 20 machines, together with a visual indication of the record and play status of each of the ports is displayed. Clicking on one of the ‘hot links’ directs to the affected machine.

Built smaller than a 3.5-inch hard drive, the compact, rugged Pelican video encoder is ideal for remote newsgathering, enterprise video, hospitality, government, education and healthcare applications. Set up and configuration is a snap with the built in HTML5 web interface. All Pelican models – Pelican- Analog, Pelican-SD and Pelican-HD– support live IP streaming from the built-in Ethernet port.

Pelican-Analog is for composite analogue video and

stereo analogue audio inputs, Pelican-SD is for SDI video with embedded stereo audio as well as mini-XLR with balanced audio, while Pelican-HD supports HD-SDI video with embedded stereo audio as well as mini-XLR with balanced audio. SU4302
