shentongroup supplies new Tedom Centro T100 CHP S
hentongroup,
Riello UPS launch the Power Centre the specialist
supplier of power generation and energy support systems and sole UK provider of the highly acclaimed Tedom CHP units, has won a contract from Imtech Aqua Building Services to install the newly launched Tedom Centro T100 into the impressive Kingsland Wharves housing development in London. Shentongroup beat off stiff competition from five other companies to win the prestigious order, which also includes supplying a Tedom Micro T30 CHP system.
The Kingsland Wharves development comprises of new apartment buildings located around the historic Kingsland canal basin on the Regent’s Canal in East London. The two Tedom CHP systems will supply heat and electricity to a total of 207 dwellings, split 58 dwellings in two blocks and 149 in 7 other
blocks. The Tedom Centro T100, which will be installed in a purpose-built underground plant room, will also serve a surgery at the base of one block, an artist’s studio and several commercial units located across the
project. The two CHP units will be maintained under shentongroup’s Infinium24 programme, which is a scientifically designed and monitored “perpetual renewal protocol” that constantly renovates and re-engineers components before their projected replacement date.

training suite to showcase its extensive range of products. The Power Centre, which opened its doors at the firm’s head office in September, will be used to show existing and potential customers a selection of live UPS systems, demonstration units and monitoring packages. The centre, in Wrexham, North Wales, includes a low power demonstration
R
rack containing a range of online, dual format UPS systems, battery packs and switchgear designed for smaller networks and IT applications. Other products featured in the Power Centre include a 100kVA Master HP UPS with a 300kVA VDC-XE flywheel providing 144 seconds of mechanical battery power, and an additional 10-minute battery pack. The flywheel is smart grid ready and provides the Master UPS with standby power if the mains power supply fails. The centre also features the live 100kVA Elcos standby diesel generator providing standby power to essential loads such as the UPS system and non- essential loads including lighting, security systems and electrical door access. The Elcos Generator is smart grid ready and can be connected to the National Grid for a demand response programme. The centre also serves a training facility for clients, sales teams and service engineers,
providing critical
education or refresher courses for each of the technologies available. Riello UPS Tel: 0800 269 394 Web:

Weidmüller’s DC-UPS safeguards against mains power failures for up to 30 minutes at 40 A W
iello UPS has launched its own demonstration and
eidmüller's uninterruptible power supply (DC-UPS) ensures a highly available 24V DC power supply for automation applications. A reliable DC-UPS avoids costly machinery and system downtime and keeps safety functions, process controls and communications up and running for a defined period of time. If a power outage occurs at the system input, the DC-UPS reliably provides 24V to the automated components, without interruption, for a pre-defined period of time. This way, machinery and systems can be switched to a defined status or even continue to operate without change. The maintenance-free buffer module is perfect for short interruptions
in the range of several 100 milliseconds; depending on usage, customers can get a life time of up to 10 years from the device. The UPS controller, in connection with a battery module, bridges longer mains power failures safely and reliably. This module provides power up to 40 A for 30 minutes or 1 A for 30 hours, depending on the requirement.
The temperature compensated charging feature ensures a long battery life. Four finely graded battery modules between 3.4 and 17 Ah offer a tailored solution.
The Weidmüller DC-UPS controllers can be installed adjacent to one other, so they take up only 66 mm of width in the cabinet. TÜV certification and the upcoming cURus, cULus approvals facilitate the use of these products around the world. A complete DC-UPS system can be assembled with the UPS controller, the corresponding battery module and the primary power supply. The system provides "back-up power" for automation components in the range of minutes or hours. The modular setup facilitates division of the total load into "unsecured" and "secured" load circuits, so that a smaller UPS can often be utilised. The UPS controllers from Weidmüller feature a convenient status indicator and range settings for custom-fit usage. In addition to the three relay contacts, there are three active transistor outputs available to easily wire an external monitoring unit. What is more, every signal output can be inverted using a DIP switch, ideal for the adaptation to the existing logic. A control input to the battery lock (interlock) makes it possible to freely switch between the UPS and the battery, ensuring technicians can safely work on the controls during service calls.
