Carrying currents up to 15A
Walk-in chambers designed to be E-fficient
Three new models of walk-in type temperature and humidity cham- bers, dubbed the E range, have been introduced by Unitemp and are designed for the testing and reliability of large volumes of full size solar panels, PV products, electrical/electronic components and equipment as well as automotive products. The range meets the requirements for the complete certification to IEC or Ul standards. Energy savings are obtained via a new refrigeration control system, an active map system and other original control devices. This has resulted in improved air tightness and sealing capacity of the chambers.

A new short travel, high current test probe capable of carrying currents up to 15A has been launched by Peak Test Services. Designed for testing at 3.70mm centres in limited space condi- tions, the new P360/G-DX has a tip diameter of only 1.3mm. Typical applications for the DX head style probe include tests on battery or charging contacts. The P360/G-DX features a nominal travel distance of 0.8mm (1.2mm maximum), and has a nominal spring force of 80cN (pre-load 50cN). Pointing accu- racy is ±0.1mm.
The probe incorporates a gold plated beryllium/copper plunger, a brass gold plated barrel and receptacle, and a stainless steel spring. Peak Test Services

refrigeration capacity. An integral control panel with a 10.4” colour touch screen provides high speed processing with ease of operation and legibility.
Depending on the model the temperature range is -60°C, -40°C and -20/80°C (150°C is available and with a humidity range of -
10/95%rh). A viewing port (180mm x 289) with a heater to prevent fogging is also provided. Unitemp

per second), expandable to 2.5GS/s with interleaving. The channels can be allo- cated as eight analogue channels or seven analogue channels plus one 8-bit digital input.
The new instruments feature long memory (up to 62.5M points per channel and 125M points in interleave mode), allowing both long recordings and multi- ple waveforms to be acquired. Advanced measurement and analysis
Yokogawa has recently launched its new DLM4000, a mixed signal oscilloscope, featuring eight channels, combining the large screen and 8-channel capability of Yokogawa’s earlier 8-channel DL7480 oscilloscope with the mixed signal technology of the company’s DLM2000 Series.
The new instrument is well suited to test and debugging applications in the embedded systems, power electronics, mechatronics and automotive sectors. There are two models in the series, with bandwidths of 350 and 500MHz and a sampling rate of 1.25GS/s (gigasamples

features include histogram and trending functions, digital filtering, zoom win- dows, user defined mathematics and ser- ial bus analysis.
The instruments incorporate a large (12.1”) high resolution XGA display, and yet are housed in a compact body which is less than 18cm deep and weighs just 6.5kg - similar to smaller 4-channel oscilloscopes. A complete product review can be seen online at

The Fluke 437 is the latest model in the Fluke 430 Series II Three Phase Power Analysers, the first tools to use a patented algorithm (Unified Power Management), to measure and quantify energy losses due to harmonics and unbalance issues, allowing users to pin-
point the origin of energy waste within a system.
The Fluke 435 and 437 models include PowerWave, a fast capture system, and both are compliant with IEC 61000- 4-30 Class-A. Each can monitor systems with up to ten power quality parameters on one screen, can record up to 150 parameters on four phases simultaneously, in accordance with the EN 50160 standard, and are safety rated to 600V CAT IV/1000V CAT III. A new speed measuring tool has been developed by Briggs Equipment in response to the customer need for accurate proof that power pallet trucks are set at maximum site speed limits.
As well as presenting health and safety risks, previous speed tests may have needed a small team of people to measure the required dis- tances and stop watches to test speed. With Briggs’ speed measuring tool, it has improved the safety and accuracy of these tests, has reduced the time and space needed as well as the people required. Other functions include measuring acceleration, brake performance and deceleration rates and it can be used to test many different kinds of machines moving either forwards or backwards.
