Products UPS & Standby Power UPS for virtual environments
Eaton’s Power Quality business has recently launched the 9PX Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS), the next generation of energy efficient 5 to 11kVA future- proof UPSs for virtualised environments. Well suited for IT and facilities man- agers who are targeted with managing rising energy costs and consumption, the new UPS units feature up to 95% efficien- cy in online double conversion mode, and 98% in high efficiency mode, with a power factor of 0.9, enabling them to deliver 28% more power than other UPSs in the same class. As a result, the 9PX is particularly suit- able for users looking to protect their equipment in computer rooms and small data centres as well as in industrial,
manufacturing and medical applications. The devices come as a compact rack or
tower, delivering up to 5,400W in a 3U form factor and 10kW in 6U. To allow for enhanced manageability, a sophisticated graphical LCD display provides clear infor- mation on the UPS’s full status and analyt- ics as well as configuration capabilities. Users have the option to monitor ener- gy consumption via the LCD or through Eaton’s Intelligent Power Software Suite, which is compatible with all major oper- ating systems and virtualisation software. To ensure service continuity, Eaton has equipped the 9PX with redundant compo- nents as well as with an internal self pow- ered bypass. On HotSwap models, a maintenance bypass is also available for easy replacement of the UPS without powering down critical systems. The devices allow for parallel operation so that users can either build a redundant solution or scale up their UPS system using HotSync technology to double the power at a later point in time depending on their infrastructure growth. Enter 216 Providing continuous power
Recognising the need for the seamless performance of today’s technological innovations, UPS provider Socomec has intro- duced its new NETYS range of ‘intelligent’ single-phase UPS systems, which have been created specifically for the requirements of domestic environments and small to medium sized organisations. Available in a range of options from 600VA to 3.3kVA, the systems are based on Socomec’s UPS technology and have been engineered to guarantee uninterruptible and continuous power for mission criti- cal IT applications.
The range includes compact multi-socket UPS systems with features such as a USB port and powerful rack or tower solutions to protect net- works and other connected services. Andrew Wilkinson, managing director of Socomec UPS UK explained the thinking behind the organisation’s most recent product developments, “At Socomec, we recognise that whilst we all, as individuals and organisa- tions, depend on reliable technology performance on a daily basis, our precise requirements in terms of critical power supply vary. In creating the NETYS range we have designed a suite of UPS products that provide domestic and business users with greater flexibility than ever before. Socomec UPS
