Accuracy is the prime feature of new E1622
Martindale Electric has announced the release of its new E1622 mil- liohm meter, which is well suited for utilities use in the workshop, field or test facilities.
Featuring greater functionality, the E1622 milliohm is a portable, digital, low resis- tance meter which uses a four wire system to elimi- nate errors and ensure accurate measurement of low resistance. With an accuracy of +0.5%, the E1622 is suitable for testing elec- trical bonding in areas as diverse as mines, aircraft, ships, railways and domestic and industrial elec- trical applications.
In addition, the E1622 is also able to measure electrical resistance in areas such as motor windings, generators and transformers, as well as other low resistance measurement applications such as busbars and the resistance of electronic components, such as PCB tracks, switches and relays. The new E1622 is also supplied in a sealed ABS plastic case, and comes with a free verification certificate, plus batteries and test leads, making it ready for immediate use. Martindale Electric

For users with regular circuit breaker testing requirements that traditionally had to choose between low end instru- ments designed only for simple appli- cations and versatile but costly high end instruments, Megger has intro- duced its new TM1700 range of circuit breaker analysers.
The technology used in the new instruments is based on Megger’s high end TM1800 series and features DualGround testing, which means that tests can be performed with both sides of the breaker grounded. This increases operator safety by eliminating the risk of high voltages being induced into the breaker under test.
The TM1700 instruments also incor- porate active interference suppression, which means that they consistently deliver accurate and dependable results, including measurements of PIR values, even in electrically noisy environments such as electricity substations. A further important benefit is that all inputs and outputs are galvanically isolated, making it possible to perform all relevant mea- surements in one test without the need to change connections. The instruments are available in four versions, allowing users to choose the specification that best matches their
requirements as well as between stand alone and PC controlled units. Stand alone models incorporate a large colour touch screen and offer a user interface backed by software wizards that simplify the production of custom test templates. Computer controlled models are sup- plied with a PC compatible software package that provides comparable func- tionality. A range of accessories are also available with the analysers. Megger
