New transportable ATEX LED floodlight from Dialight The Dialight SafeSite Transportable LED High Bay luminaire is a high performance floodlight with ATEX/ IECEx certification, suitable for use both in Zone 1, 21 and Zone 2, 22. Delivering up to 12,500 lumens, the new luminaire is designed for temporary lighting applications and for maintenance tasks that require a robust light source, such as tank cleaning and sandblasting. With an operating voltage range of 110-277 VAC, it is highly suited for use with remote generators. Weighing 13.6 kg, the 170W luminaire is fitted with

a stainless steel bracketed base and wire guard, and is a compact replacement for bulkier transportable HID lamps up to 400W. Carrying a five-year full performance warranty, its reliability and instant-on ability, together with its superior

colour rendition compared to HID, LPS and metal halide, mean greater safety for workers. Its low operating temperature also reduces risks of burns and fire. The transportable high bay comes with a 10-metre

factory-installed cable, and an optional sandblasting cover is offered. Transportable LED bulkheads are also available for hazardous applications. n www.dialight.com

Flex Connectors’ flex7 system lights up blue plaque building Flex Connectors’ flex7 lighting connection and control system was recently installed over six floors at 4 Carlton Gardens, London. The system was designed by Stinton Jones Consulting Engineers LLP and installed by contractor Langley Electrical of Harlow. Flex Connectors were selected for the project due to their user-friendly design and quick installation time, and because they do not require any commissioning. flex7 controls

were networked to provide a global ‘on/off’ per floor. The controls are programmed to monitor the levels of daylight in a room, and dim the lights down when natural light is sufficient. When the room is unoccupied lights will automatically switch off after a pre-set timeout. This ensures that unnecessary energy usage is kept to a minimum at all times. The building lies within a conservation area, and has a blue plaque to recognise its historical significance as General Charles de Gaulle’s Free French forces headquarters during the Second World War. n www.flexconnectors.co.uk
