Eco friendly

The Norfolk and Waveney Branch recently held a meeting at the EcoTech centre in Swaff am. Members were able to view the displays and exhibitions on sustainability. The facility is the leading centre in the region for sustainability issues. As part of the meeting, the members had a tour of the facility, which included climbing 305 steps up a spiral staircase to the turbine viewing platform. It was worth the eff ort, as members were then able to take in some magnifi cent views of the Norfolk countryside. Branch Chairman, Brian Brister said: ‘This was a very informative visit and one that literally took our breath away.’

Steaming through the Norfolk Broads

Mixing and mingling on an evening cruise was on the menu for the Norfolk and Waveney branch’s recent social evening.

Taking place on the Southern Comfort paddle steamer, based at Horning on the Norfolk Broads, the event was attended by ECA members and guests and included some sweet music from a local jazz band. The evening was a chance for members to meet up with

old friends, as well as discuss work and make new contacts. ‘It was great to see members new and old, renew

acquaintances and meet some people for the fi rst time,’ said Geoff Cook, East region manager.’
