[ Focus: Conference and exhibition ] In a fast-changing, dynamic and often challenging
marketplace, it’s essential that electrical contractors are equipped with the knowledge necessary to compete and prosper. As in previous years, the scheduled line-up of speakers will guarantee thought-provoking insights into the future of the industry, as well as providing guidance and advice to help delegates prepare their businesses to take full advantage of new – and existing – opportunities. Towards the end of the day, a Q&A forum session with the speakers will stimulate discussion. When the day’s business is completed, an evening social event, with a meal and live entertainment, will provide a relaxing occasion – and networking opportunities – for delegates.
Day two
On Friday 21 June, The Electric Event will continue, with the opening of the Technology Live workshops and Meet the Suppliers exhibition in one of the ICC Birmingham exhibition halls.
Meet the Suppliers A key element of The Electric Event experience, the new Technology Live workshops and Meet the Suppliers exhibition will bring together the industry’s leading manufacturers and suppliers to display their very latest products and services. Visitors will be able to get their hands on many new products and materials, talk to the producers and view demonstrations of new kit. The exhibition promises to be an invaluable showcase for new technology – and a great opportunity for businesses looking to move into new areas of work or wanting to try out new solutions.
Technology Live workshops A series of Technology Live workshops will be running throughout the second day of the conference, covering key themes for electrical contractors. There will be six workshop streams from which delegates can choose to participate:
nLighting; nHome automation, digital communication and AV; nFire and security systems; nElectrical power distribution and control; nEnergy solutions; and nECA business services, standards and legislative updates. Delegates have a choice of 30 separate workshops,
five different ones for each of the six streams, with the morning sessions repeated in the afternoon to allow delegates maximum flexibility in their programme.
Day three
On Saturday 22 June, the ECA Electrical Industry Conference continues with a further series of keynote speeches and expert presentations, plus a special guest speaker, TV presenter and adventurer Ben Fogel, rounding off the business part of the event. In the evening, comedian and TV personality
Marcus Brigstocke will host the ECA Gala Dinner and Awards night.
