Park Lane, London and Mixology101, LA, Calabrese has over 30 years of experience as a bartender, having developed his talent for combining flavours while starting out on Italy’s Amalfi Coast. Following spells at the Dukes Hotel in London’s St James’s and Lanesborough Hotel in Knightsbridge, he developed a unique style behind the bar and a passion for cocktails, which has led to him becoming recognised as one of the world’s leading cocktail experts.

“Surprisingly it was never actually my intention to become a bartender,” he says. “My real dream was to be the captain of a ship. I spent three years studying, but I was left partially blind after an accident so I failed my physical test. At the age of 11 I started working in a bar during the summer holidays, so I decided to carry on with my second love of bartending once my seafaring dreams were over. With the bar, I am now captain of my own ship, with all my family and friends onboard for the voyage.” From the start, under the mentorship of


Signor Raffaello, Calabrese has been focused on creating great, classic cocktails, experimenting with new liqueurs and bold spirits to strike the perfect balance. Something which is clearly evident in his enviable drinks menu and signature cocktails such as ‘My Martini’, the ‘Breakfast Martini’ and ‘Spicy Fifty’ - a blend of Stoli vanilla vodka, elderflower cordial, fresh lime juice, honey syrup and chilli pepper.
