Joining fellow judges Bill Ward and Tamara

Well on stage will be Sally Dexter, who portrays Simone. She says: “I’m cock-a-hoop to be part of this wonderful show and can’t wait for the opening night, the run itself and the joy of spending time with such a lovely, talented cast and crew. I’m a lucky girl! “Apart from the fab songs, [ Jennifer

Saunders’] zappy script has real humour and humanity too. And it’s always fun to play apparently ‘wicked women’, and work out what makes them tick.” She adds: “As I’m playing a TV talent show

judge I’ve been watching T e X Factor. I feel like I’ve fi nally joined the rest of the human race. Although I’m slightly concerned about my eternal soul now.” Inspired to join the show by her three nieces, Dexter is particularly looking forward to performing a number of the Spice Girls’ multi- million-selling songs on stage. She says: “I was always trying to track down Spice Girl Christmas and birthday presents for

them, so I kind of caught the bug too when I listened to their sunny optimistic music and the wonderful ‘can do’ spirit they seem to embrace and embody. “T eir music is exciting, encouraging and, very importantly, inclusive. You get a full-hearted blast of a ‘you can do it, give it a go, it’s always worth trying, and having fun trying’ attitude. On the gloomiest day you suddenly remember the sun is still up there behind the clouds - it’s just joyous.” Dexter’s favourite songs include; “Denying”,

“Look At Me”, “Who Do You T ink You Are?”, “Do It” and “I Turn To You”. She adds: “I’ve found it quite challenging to contain my excitement and concentrate. “It’s a fun and fabulous night out. As well as

sore feet, you won’t be able to resist tapping ‘em!” Lucy Montgomery, Simon Slater, Ben Cura,

Hatty Preston, Simon Adkins and Anthony Topham will also be joining Dexter on stage. While the ensemble includes; Tom Kanavan, Zak Nemorin, Curtis Angus, Luke Jackson, Oliver Roll, David Rudin, Darren Carnall, Myles Brown, Charlotte Gorton, Rebecca Mckinnis, Lucy T atcher, Roxanne Palmer, Charlotte Walcott, Sophie Carmen-Jones, Carla Nella, Kirstie Skivington and Helen Ternent. Director Paul Garrington, choreographer

Lynne Page and musical orchestrator and arranger Martin Koch will also complete the creative team. Dexter concludes: “If the audience weren’t Spice Girls fans before, they will be after!”
