SAFER PARKING SCHEME

NEWS

LORRY PARK HAS NO TRUCK WITH CRIME

AWARD IS DEVON-SENT

Drivers cannot fail to miss the fact that this car park, run by Plymouth City Council, has won the Safer Parking Scheme’s Park Mark award.

The eye-catching road painting (pictured) grabs the attention and tells drivers that this car park is police approved, safe and has measures in place to reduce crime and the fear of crime.

The Park Mark award scheme is not just limited to car parks – as proved by Furnells Transport Lorry Park in Hemel Hempsted. The facility has become the first business lorry park in the area to gain the Park Mark award. Police and the Safer Parking Scheme were impressed with the park’s management and CCTV security system. Representatives from Furnells Transport and Storage received their Park Mark award in a presentation made by Chief Inspector Mike Pryce and Inspector George Holland in September.

Safer Parking Scheme / British Parking Association, said: ‘I am particularly pleased Furnells have been successfully assessed and believe they will prove to be worthy award holders. We are all aware of the current economic situation and the restrictions that local companies are under, but David Furnell and his team have ensured that a safer environment has been provided.
