A RECENT audio upgrade at the Radisson Blu Royal in Bergen, Norway, saw the hotel opt for Tannoy’s OCV Series, marking the first installation of the Scottish manufacturer’s new pendant loudspeaker. The hotel, part of the global
Radisson Blu chain, has recently undergone a complete refurbishment, which included an expansion of its restaurant and conference facilities. The lack of a cavity ceiling space in this area ruled out conventional in-ceiling loudspeakers, meaning integrator AVAB-CAC had to turn to self-contained hanging pendant-style devices which could be hung from the apex of
the atrium structure. To overcome this and ensure even sound coverage in the large glazed atrium, a number of 8-inch OCV 8s have been installed on a distributed audio system alongside 50 CVS in-ceiling speakers. Arthur Botnevik of AVAB
CAC Bergen, said: “OCV was chosen because of the unique design that fits into the glass atrium, without compromising the integrity or visual aesthetic of the building. The OCVs are providing full range sound quality for the restaurant area, and it was the ideal product for this kind of application.”n www.tannoy.com
