OD Security Sells 4 SOTER Through-Body Scanners to Mexico

OD Security has sold a further 4 units of the SOTER RS Through Body Scanner to Mexico for use in drug interdiction within a number of high security custodial establishments. Attempts to smuggle drugs, weapons and mobile phones into custodial establishments,

have previously only been detected through strip searching, an outdated method, that is not only intense and unpleasant for both parties, but not always effective. An alternative to strip searching is the deployment of the Soter RS body scanner. Different prisons across the world have already started using the Soter RS to prevent the smuggling of drugs, weapons and mobile phones. The SOTER RS is a through body X-ray system which combines ultra low radiation with maximum visibility. Within seconds you are able to see any hidden items, such as narcotics, weapons, explosives, diamonds or any smuggled or stolen goods regardless of the material. The SOTER RS shows a clear difference between human tissues and other materials. Even ingested or camouflaged items will be shown. If it is there; the machine will point it out, within just 10 seconds.

Elbit Systems Introduces J-MUSIC™ DIRCM System

Expanding its suite of advanced directed infra-red counter measures (DIRCM) systems, which already provide customers worldwide with effective protection against shoulder fired missiles, Elbit Systems is introducing the new J-MUSIC™ DIRCM System, specifically designed and optimised to protect medium to large aircraft. J-MUSIC™ was launched at the Farnborough Air Show in London in July. Based on the same proven technologies of the C-MUSIC® system, selected by the Israeli government to protect passenger aircraft, J-MUSIC™ is an advanced multi- spectral infra-red fibre-laser based DIRCM system, which rapidly acquires and tracks incoming man-portable missiles (MANPADS) and deflects them from the target using a very powerful laser beam. J-MUSIC™ is a distributed system, meaning that the LRUs can be installed in various locations onboard the aircraft, enabling an optimised installation solution for protection of the aircraft. Interfacing with the aircraft's missile warning system, J-MUSIC™ provides a truly integrated, comprehensive and cost effective solution.

The new system is specially designed

to protect medium to large jets such as transporters, tankers, special mission platforms, business jets and others. J-MUSIC™ is part of Elbit Systems’ family of advanced DIRCM systems for both military and commercial aircraft, including MUSIC® and C-MUSIC®. These systems provide the ultimate protection against MANPADS for most types of helicopter and fixed-wing aircraft platforms. The MUSIC® family of DIRCM systems, whose performance has been proven in comprehensive operational testing and flight tests conducted independently by government agencies in a number of countries, have been selected for programmes in Israel, Brazil, Italy and other countries for the protection of their rotary and fixed-wing platforms.
