UNRULY PASSENGERS
31 MAY: LONDON GATWICK Colin Jones, 24, burnt the hair of his friend on board a Monarch Airlines fl ight from Manchester to Majorca. Unaware of the cause, the smell caused the crew concern and the aircraft diverted to London Gatwick where Jones was arrested. Jones was part of a stag-do party.
2 JUNE: MELBOURNE
Frances Lillian
Macaskill, 58, caused a Qantas fl ight en route from Melbourne to
Wellington, New Zealand, to return after she allegedly began punching and head-butting seats and yelling profanities at passengers and crew whilst intoxicated. She is also reported to have punched a male passenger in the face, causing a 6cms abrasion to the right side of his face which caused heavy bleeding.
4 JUNE: GANDER Varinder Sood, 39, caused the diversion of a Jet Airways fl ight, en route from Brussels to Toronto, to Gander after he allegedly became intoxicated and started using obscene language toward the fl ight crew when they refused to serve him more alcohol.
6 JUNE: BRISBANE Reid William George Corleison, 21, and Lee David Frank Corleison, 26, were denied passage on a Virgin fl ight to Wellington, New Zealand, due to having consumed a bottle of duty free whiskey prior to boarding. The brothers were charged with behaving in an offensive and disorderly manner on Commonwealth land and fi ned $400 each.
8 JUNE: GLASGOW
Roberta Burke, 49, became intoxicated and abusive on board a fl ight from Alicante to Glasgow and was arrested on arrival. She was not jailed, even though she was on bail from both Dundee and Stirling Sheriff Courts in relation to shoplifting offences. Burke was also on 18-months probation since April for her role in a £3500 raid on an M&S store in Glasgow in 2010; she is reported to be a member of a shoplifting gang, known as the ‘shopping molls’, which also carried out a £24,000 raid on Harrods in London’s Knightsbridge.

8 JUNE: JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA An AirTran fl ight, en route from Atlanta to Orlando, diverted after a male passenger issued a threat, mentioning explosives, and then locked himself in the toilet.
8 JUNE: LOS ANGELES A 29-year-old man allegedly became disruptive and had to be restrained on board a US Airways fl ight from Charlotte to Los Angeles.
10 JUNE: COLOMBO, SRI LANKA It was reported that a passenger became disruptive on board an aircraft en route from Dubai to Sri Lanka, and had damaged aircraft equipment in the process. He was arrested on arrival.
10 JUNE: SYDNEY A passenger, on a Qantas fl ight from Johannesburg to Sydney, became disruptive and had to be restrained.
12 JUNE: BUCHAREST A fl ight attendant required medical treatment after being attacked by two male passengers on board a Sunexpress Deutschland fl ight en route from Frankfurt to Ankara. The aircraft diverted to Bucharest where the men were arrested.
13 JUNE: CAIRO
Four intoxicated male passengers allegedly caused disruption on board an Oman Air fl ight whilst it was en route from Muscat to Cairo. The police boarded the aircraft on arrival but the men issued an apology to the Captain which he allegedly accepted.
13 JUNE: BANGALORE Indian cricketer S Sreesanth
allegedly caused the delay of a JetLite fl ight from Bangalore to Delhi after becoming
engaged in an argument with a fl ight attendant.
19 JUNE: MALTA A Thomson Airways fl ight, en route from London to Mombasa, diverted to Malta due to the behaviour of a couple, aged 23 and 24, on board. They were allegedly engaged in an argument, during which the woman claimed the man, Matthew Evans, was on drugs. Evans was found to be carrying 18g of cannabis resin; the Maltese court conditionally discharged him for three years.

25 JUNE: NEW YORK Once
again, it was a fl ight attendant causing the disruption. This time, Jose Serrano, allegedly challenged passengers on the American
Eagle fl ight preparing to depart LaGuardia for Raleigh-Durham to leave the plane 'if anyone had the balls' to do so after tempers frayed following a 5-hour delay. Serrano was removed from the fl ight which then had to be cancelled allegedly due to insuffi cient crew.
28 JUNE: LOUISVILLE, KENTUCKY Kelly W. Bryant, 47, was arrested for allegedly trying to board an aircraft whilst intoxicated. She was told a few times to return the following day to fl y, but kept returning to try her luck again.
28 JUNE: SOUTHEND, UK A fi ght started between two passengers on board an easyJet fl ight preparing to depart for Spain. Both were taken off the fl ight and given £80 fi xed penalty notices for their abusive behaviour.
30 JUNE: WUHAN, CHINA Five women were arrested following an incident on board a Lucky Air fl ight from Kunming to Wuhan. One passenger, Liu, had reclined her seat; the woman in the seat behind, named Xu, seated with her mother, aunt and friend, objected. The situation quickly escalated and punches were thrown. Xu was later fi ned.
1 JULY: FORT LAUDERDALE Brandon
Johnson, 30, was arrested after allegedly screaming abusively at a Spirit Airlines check-in agent who denied
him boarding for a fl ight to Jamaica as he did not have a passport with him. He was charged with disorderly conduct.
2 JULY: PAPHOS, CYPRUS An easyJet fl ight, en route from Tel Aviv to London Luton, diverted after a 61-year- old drunk Israeli man allegedly became aggressive towards the crew.
