6. JASPER NATIONAL PARK Spend an entire day as you please, with a range of optional activities to choose from at your lodge, including trail riding, tennis, golf, hiking, and swimming (some at additional cost). A Parks Canada official offers a presentation on the surrounding natural wonders this afternoon. Dine at leisure this evening at your choice of the lodge’s diverse restaurants. Meals BD

7. THE ICEFIELDS PARKWAY Linking Jasper and Lake Louise, the Icefields Parkway offers a spectacular drive with views of snow-domed peaks and immense hanging glaciers; you may see elk, deer, bighorn sheep or bears. You’ll stop for a smooth and slow Ice Explorer ride on the Athabasca Glacier, one of the largest ice masses outside the Arctic Circle. Your destination today is the heart of Banff National Park, where your lodge room offers a pristine lake-view room. Meals BLD

8. YOHO NATIONAL PARK & BANFF Journey via the Bow River Valley to Moraine Lake; after lunch you’ll head through Kicking Horse Pass into Yoho National Park to see the Natural Bridge, the remarkable Spiral Tunnels and the Continental Divide. You’ll continue to Banff National Park, the first park in Canada’s history. Its dramatic beauty has been preserved, thanks in part to the accidental discovery of the Cave and Basin Hot Springs by Canadian Pacific Railway workers in the 1880s. More beauty awaits at your lodge, styled after a Scottish baronial castle, dating back to 1888 when the Canadian Pacific Railway first opened the Rockies to tourism. Meals BLD

9. BOW RIVER RAFTING / BANFF A leisurely raft trip along the magnificent Bow River means opportunities to view beaver, elk, osprey and some of the tallest Rockies’ peaks – a perfect prelude to a day spent as you wish in one of the world’s major recreation destinations. Your resort offers many amenities and activities, from golf and horseback riding to guided hikes (additional charges may apply). Or, choose to explore the resort town of Banff with your included Heritage Passport offering admission to two museums. Please join us this evening for a farewell dinner. Meals BD
