Connected city agreement for Bosch
BOSCH has signed a letter of intent with the Principality of Monaco, which will engage a partnership for the former to design and engineer a ‘connected city’. The concept relates to the
interconnection of IT and communication systems throughout buildings, institutions, and elements of infrastructure in Monaco. The project will aim to develop and implement solutions in areas such as mobility, energy, healthcare, and communications. With Monaco keen to

UNIFIED communications integrator AVSolution UK has rebranded as avsnet. The new brand maintains its heritage (avs) while indicating its focus on collaborative unified communications (net). In addition to brand
changes, the company has welcomed on board non- executive chairman Mike Mason (pictured), who has experience working in global network providers. Mason told Installation: “If
you look at most IT departments they are being asked to do more and more with the same, or in many cases even fewer resources – therefore more corporates
are having to partner with specialist suppliers. “The reason we have seen
massive adoption of Cloud technologies is because most customers want the flexibility to buy services supporting their business in a utility-type model.” This, Mason says, gives customers flexibility of price points, while transferring the risk to the provider. “We will be developing managed services to complement our on- premise solutions, allowing our customers the choice of supply and financial model: opex versus capex.
