Crestron has announced the winners of its 2012 Residential Awards. Now in its fifth year, the event was held at the company’s European HQ in Cobham, giving attendees chance to visit the new Experience Centre before the awards ceremony. This year saw a record 59 entries across eight categories with winners chosen by a panel made up of Robin van Meeuwen, Crestron UK managing director, Petra van Meeuwen, Crestron marketing manager, Tanya Houston of Wildwood PR and Installation’s own Paddy Baker. “The standard of entries for 2012 was incredibly high,” said Robin van Meeuwen. “We have seen a great selection of projects since we started our Residential Awards five

years ago, but this year we were truly amazed with the entries and how unique some of the projects are. We continue with this awards scheme each year to recognise the achievements of our integrators, as they play a vital part in our success. My thanks go out to everyone who took the time to enter the awards.” Winners included T&T Automation (Europe) for Georgian Mansion, which was awarded the Best Integrated Home System trophy – a category that provoked a lot of discussion among the judging panel. Also of particular note was the Best Marine Project, which was won by AV Synergy for DB9 – a 50m super yacht that incorporates source devices

in 15 areas, six satellite boxes, five Kaleidescape players, four audio streams, two FM tuners, ships passageway PC and CCTV. Darryn Jacobs of AV

Synergy said: “Winning Best Marine Project for the second year running is an enormous achievement for AV Synergy and when we consider that our company is by far smaller than many of the competition, we take great pride in receiving this award.” Other winning companies included Audio Vision, Smartcomm, ClearSphere, Custom Controls and C3 Custom Code Crafters. Details of all winning projects were featured in the Crestron Awards supplement included with Installation’s July issue. www.crestron.eu
