TECHNOLOGY: NEW PRODUCTS What’s new AV STUMPFL WINGS AV SUITE
IT’S… An integrated product suite encompassing both software and hardware components.
DETAILS: According to AV Stumpfl, the key strength of the Wings AV Suite is its ability to “connect everything with everything, seamlessly, bringing the whole product group together”. At the heart of this decentralised approach is the new Wings Avio language, which different elements of the suite use to communicate with each other. Wings AV Suite includes a number of software and hardware components
including Wings Engine, a media server that can be used within installation and staging applications. The media server sports a touch display, Neutrik connections, DVI, HDMI, RGB, VGA and live HD-SDI inputs, and either a dual or quad engine and separate control output. Also part of the suite is
version 5 of Wings Vioso, the multimedia production and live show control tool. This offers the ability to render, scale and edit in real time (including during live playback) and the possibility to calibrate as many projections from multiple servers as required:
OVO5PAPART AUDIO
IT’S… An active speaker set that consists of an active and a passive loudspeaker.
DETAILS: The OVO5P active speaker set is said to have excellent musical quality, clear voice reproduction and high sound level with 2 x 20W output power. The OVO5P bass reflex speaker has a 5in woofer and a 1in soft dome tweeter. The stereo mini-jack input allows users to connect a laptop, iPod or MP3 player. Also available is a stereo RCA/Cinch input for unbalanced line level signals. The speaker set has been designed for a wide range of indoor
installation applications, such as classrooms, boardrooms and hotel rooms; it is available in black or white. Apart’s OVO5P has numerous wall mounting possibilities due to the painted metal speaker brackets that have various installing angles; the unit can also be freestanding thanks to its floor-standing bracket.
AND ALSO: Also new from Apart is the OVO8P active two-way bass reflex speaker which has an 8in woofer and a 1in soft dome tweeter.

decentralised software allows for multiple control of projections, video content and object mapping. Wings Touch is a media control and design user interface. Likely application areas include retail stores, museums, bars, visitor centres and theatres.
AND ALSO: Various hardware modules, under the name of Wings Avio I/O modules, are also available. These offer integrated web server control, and can be used with any smartphone or web browser. They can be configured via an SD card and can communicate via DMX, relays, remote in, serial or Ethernet (PoE).
EB-1900 EPSON
IT’S… A new projector range for the corporate and education markets.
DETAILS: Featuring Epson’s 3LCD technology, the EB-1900 series provides vivid, natural colours and equally high white and colour light output, delivering bright pictures even in daylight. All projectors in the range are compact and offer a wide range of features. The EB-1965, EB-1955 and EB-1945W models boast WiFi connectivity, while all models offer HDMI and DisplayPort connections to present high-definition video content. Also present in the EB-1965, EB-1955 and EB-1945W models, and new to Epson, is the ‘focus help’ feature, which allows precise focus calibration, using a test pattern, to suit any meeting-room setup. In addition, the screen fit function
available on the EB-1965, EB-1955, and EB-1945W models makes it simple to correct images to a framed screen in seconds. These models also offer real-time auto vertical and horizontal keystone correction,
which is also new to Epson, giving users corrections that can be seen in less than a second. Productivity is said to be increased with the EB-1900 range, as it offers split-screen projection to show different kinds of content simultaneously. The EB-1945W, EB-1955 and EB-1965 also boast a multi-PC network projection that allows content from up to four computers to be shown at once, while the new scheduling system allows users to ‘program’ their projector to auto power on with a pre-selected source.
AND ALSO: The addition of Epson’s new iProjection app allows users to project photos or documents stored on an iOS device by sending them to their projector via a network. Web pages can also be displayed, while annotations can be made over the content to enhance interaction.
