CHAUNTRY CHECKS IN AT VANCOUVER AIRPORT

DATA DELIVERY

Chauntry has been awarded the contract to supply Vancouver International Airport with its software as a service (SaaS) solution, Parkspace. The Chauntry Parkspace system provides

Vancouver International Airport with the ability to sell a range of parking products tailored to their customers’ needs at a variety of price points, offering pre-payment and the guarantee of a reserved parking place.

Canada’s second busiest airport, Vancouver International, welcomed more than 17 million people in 2011 and facilitated more than 296,000 aircraft take-offs and landings. The implementation of the Chauntry Parkspace system will commence immediately and will be available via the www.yvr.ca website soon.

A new management information tool that enables car park managers, owners and operators to better manage their facilities through the delivery of more in-depth operational and fi nancial data has been launched by APT Skidata.

A development of the company’s existing suite of standard reports packages, APT-MIS is a web-based software engine that captures, cleans and analyses information not only from the core Skidata product, but also from any other source, turning raw data into effective business intelligence. It has been developed as a direct result of customer need, according to Sean Dunstan, Managing Director of APT Skidata: ‘Since the very fi rst APT Skidata systems were installed,

we have provided comprehensive Management Information (MI) reports as standard,’ he says, ‘and these have provided key information around such things as occupancy levels and revenues.

‘But in recent times, the needs of car park operators have evolved and become more sophisticated. The growing use of season tickets, discount vouchers and other incentives means that looking at entry/exit data does not always tell the full story.

‘By introducing APT-MIS and dymanic mapping we are able to provide operators with a depth of information which has been fi ne- tuned and is in line with their specifi c needs.’
